I've put a pair of H6S SUs on what will be my 58 TR3A, and I'm not sure about the float setting. I had a problem with gas flowing out the overflow(s) erratically during some of my test runs. According to my Bently and Hayes, the floats on the H6 should have 7/16" clearance when held upside down. Is that the same for the H6S? These carbs were purchased a few years ago and I thought perhaps the float needle/seat were bad from sitting. I ordered some new ones and opted for the Ball Valve Gross type. They came with a red fiber washer. The old valve/seat clearance was about 5/32" -far from 7/16", but no washer was installed between the lid and seat. The new ones are about 1/4" (with the fiber washer). They have the plastic floats. The engine runs and sounds fine, but I know fuel should not occasionally run out of the over flows. It's only run about a gallon of gas so far, but I'm sure it will run longer on the same amount once set up properly.
