Here's what I did,76 Spit, rock solid, cut the center section out of a 69GT6 welded it into the 76 bonnet, blanked off the side lites, chromed everything, dual gage in dash,78 alloy Spit moto lita wheel, home made hub. Wheel is alum, shows black in pix.Took the int to a friend,he redid it in fact specs in GM truck cloth/vinal.He also leather covered hand stiched my wheel. This guy is the best I have ever seen.I reinstalled everything.TR6 engine20+/ shaved head.415 cam etc.GT6 O/D.etc etc. Street yokos,KYBs NOS super Sprint exh.etc. I did everything but machine work and sewing. I have had this car over 100mph with pedal to go.The most fun was blowing off my pals 69 lotus elan. I have done two other Spit 6's also, not to complicated,if you stay mostly Triumph. Dont do much of this kind of work anymore, gettin tired.

I have access to a lot with a number of spits and GT-6's. I was having a shot of whisky last night when I had this thought. I wonder if anone has put these two together to make a Spitfire 6, or a GT-6 roadster!? Of course Chrysler has the rights to "Spitfire 6" so GT 6 Roadster it is. If so, is this an easy project, or don't bother? Of course, you could also assemble a GT-4!
