GT6 GT-6 / Fairthorpe?

There have been lots of "cottage industry" car-builders in the UK. Marques like Bond, Turner, Reliant, Dellow, and so forth.
One of these companies was Fairthorpe. They built some formula race cars and a roadster called the Electron .
One Fairthorpe I hadn't seen before was the TX-GT.
This car is based pretty obviously on the Triumph GT-6. The GT-6 is a pretty car and Fairthorpe has spoiled the looks of this coupe.
But what's interesting is that the TX-GT came with an overlapping swing axle rear that was supposed to fix the GT-6s quirky handling. Anyone got any more info on the special rear in these cars?

Wow, yeah I'd say they thoroughly messed up a nice looking car. That is...well...kinda ugly. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif

I've never seen this car, but the Electron was a heck of car -- Coventry Climax engine in that body made for a very quick car.

Those rectangular headlights which I remember as looking pretty cool 30 years ago look very dated, and disastrous on that particular car. I also remember the Ford Capri looked pretty unhappy until they went back to round lights.
I wonder about some of todays styling gimmicks and how they will look in the future!
Simon.
