I have recently had installed the Grose jets on my 1275 carbs. The car does not seem to be running as good as it did with the regular jets. Is there a specific problem with the Grose jets? If so, is it correctable? I have read a few posts here that indicated the Grose jets had problems, but never had a clear idea of what those problems are. Unfortunately, I read the posts after the fact.

Had the same problem myself (with new ones), and, yes, had the "sticky balls" problem... with overflowing bowls. Changed to Viton-tipped ones and all was just fine.
 
Charlie, as mentioned by Rick, Grose Jets have a reputation for either sticking closed or open (I've experienced both). If you want to continue to use them, remove them and soak them for a while in a bit of carb cleaner then flush them out and blow them dry with compressed air. Supposedly the balls are coated with a Cosmoline-like material to prevent them from rusting when in storage.
 
Thanks to all. Once I get a cool day here I will try cleaning them out and, if still not pleased, replace them. Where can I get the Viton-tipped jets?

Viton-tipped ones are many places... including Moss. The shipping might be as much as the valves. :wink-new:
