I finally got the engine head back. It has been at the machine shop for months. I also wound up ordering 3 sets of valves (2 from the UK, 1 from Tel Aviv) before I got the correct types. Set 1 for a Herald - totally wrong, different diameter, different head Set 2, correct head, a intake is the correct diameter, exhaust to small. Finally we found the correct exhaust valve in Tel Aviv in some warehouse left over from the 70's.
It seems that my engine head is an odd 1500 FWD head with Spit sized intake valves and maybe TR6? exhaust valves. Seems like the only head that Triumph made with that combination. Now I just need to find some time to put it all back together and into the car.
