Got buzzed by a new Ferrari...Why?

Nice color Shawn. Goes well with TR6 styling. I am working on a windscreen idea but plan to weld a frame to the roll bar and screw in safety glass. Waiting for a price guesstimate from the glass shop. Enclosed a few pics of my setup. Just finished the Delco-style alternator conversion. I took out the airbox and went with K&N filters. You can't see it but the bonnet has 13 louvers sitting right atop the air filters. I smoke-tested the setup and found that plenty air gets sucked in at speed. And at idle, plenty heat from the stainless headers has a little more chance to escape. Wanted to show you the custom tips on my Falcon Sport duals. I rigid-mounted the whole setup with custom bracing and installed 2 12" triple walled flex pipes to absorb the shake. Went with 2" stainless band clamps to avoid crimping the whole system. Works well as I have already pulled it down once, only used a rubber hammer a little. You are right, the "braaattt" noise that only a TR6 will make is priceless. I can't keep up with a mustang but I sound like I can.

Thanks for the compliment on the color. It does show the lines very well without (IMHO) being offensive. The color tends to draw several people to it in both British and non-British car shows and even on the street during normal driving.

Those tips will certainly make people believe there is something other than a 2.5l I-6 powering it. Especially since there not the coffee can type tips.

I have fun playing with cars that can whup me. I always get a bit of respect when they find out it's a NA 2.5l straight six. I kept goading a S2000 into a little fun one night just to hear him shift at 9,000rpm. Another night, while minding my own business, I had a much modified 2000 Z-28 lay about 50 feet of rubber next to me at 40mph. Stupid and reckless but very complimentary at the same time.

Lifes too short to not have some fun with it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Love to play games with the rice burners in the LBC's......I find the majority of them just look fast.....you wouldn't believe the number of ricers that puul up next to my mostly stock 84 Camaro looking for a race....every once in a while I'll step on it and leave em behind....Some guy on my street has a Ferrari 355 spyder....he pulled up behind us on a busy street where he couldn't get as I watched him get fudtrated behind us the MGA started to sputter and die....I coasted off onto the shoulder with that sick feeling(gotta love that!). Another time some guy that seamed to have stagnated in 1978 was riding my bumper with his 80's Corvette...just for fun I hammered the MGB LE(with minor mods) as he went to do the same his car stalled!!!and the little black MGB just puttered away.
I also noticed that when driving a nice car(espceially an expensive car) people are alot less likely to let you in during lane mergers or similar senerios....when driving the Camaro or 95 Caddy about 70% of the time I am let in right away....with an old LBC it's about 50% and with the Jag I usually have to wait......usually to be let in by a women

My '80 TR-7 Spider gets all kinds of looks and I'm often questioned as to "what will it do?" Beset with its original emissions equipment, not much from a standing start - but then, it's time to reach the first corner and then I can show what it will do!

No question but our '70's era cars suffered badly from emission controls - so did virtually every performance car of that era. My 7 can still corner, through, and majestically.

Tomorrow, the rain is supposed to stop and the sun is predicted to shine. I have a 100 mile, two lane drive to accomplish to start a new job on Monday. Should be fun!
