Goodwood Spring Sprint - It was WET

Did I say it was wet?

The weather combined with an oil leak and a damp misfire meant I only ran one practise lap and went home at lunchtime wetter, colder, poorer (£15 for two egg&bacon baps and the worst coffee this side of Japanese Tea House) and wiser.

The monsoon weather allied with massive standing water on the track meant that a racing line was more like a 100mph plus autotest.

Don't know what you're complaining about - none of the tracks around here offer covered paddock parking spaces......

Dave

I was in an end bay and rain was coming in horizontal. Four unplanned track departures after I left including a Caterham that returned to the paddock on a flat bed with only one wheel left attached to the chassis. Luckily no one was hurt.

The Webers look great, I hope you're able to sort things out before the next event. As Dave mentioned, the only rain shelter at the tracks around here are the ones you put up or the hardtop you have on your car.......if you're lucky

Dave, Dougie, it's good to hear that it also rains on the other side of the pond

With your new intake and carb set-up are you going to go back to a flat bonnet, or stick with the vent to get the hot air out?

Wet it was !

I'm afraid that I stayed indoors. Although my collegue did go, he stayed an hour and was soaked to the skin, through his so called waterproofs.

£15 seems a bit steep even for Goodwood, can't remember things being that price before, are you sure that the vendor was not a spiv in disguise!

Lin,

I'm sticking with the vented bonnet at the moment but I've still got my old louvred 'flat' bonnet just in case I decide to go back to the 'old-skool' look.

Cheers,

Ian

Bob,

'Twas in the driver's marquee so those are probably the official prices for this year
