with regard to my comment about pushrods, I checked with a supplier in the UK (Rimmer Brothers). They list the shorter push rod, part number 149513 (8.11" length) at $4.97. Perhaps it's worth checking your suppliers in America for that part number, it must be easier than having to make up your own?
FWIW, BFE has shortened pushrods for the TR6. Although the web site only mentions .150" shorter, they can have them made to order, given enough time.

From the time I fax'ed my order sheet to Crane until I had the pushrods in my hot little grubbies was 3 days. You have to print a copy of their order form from the website, and specify lentgh, end type, etc., but it's a painless operation. Once you determine the required length for proper geometry, that is. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
