Going one step further, to modify or switch?

The purpose of my Midget is to get me to and from my miserable job with a smile on my face.

Drew,
Just keep your eyes open for a basket case or a drivetrain. I've gotten cheap parts cars, a $75 engine that ran (and stil runs) and I just picked up a 1275 and ribcase for $150 / local pickup so deals can be had. If you aren't in a rush it will fit a small budget. Remember, out of good, fast and cheap you only get two.

I keep a spare engine for every one of mine... 'cept th' Benz.

Well, Doc, I've got a spare 380SL engine in the garage! & a spare MGC! Several MGB's! Couple of 1275's - even a spare 1500!

I'm using a 1300cc Swift motor with a 5 sp from a Samurai. I will retain the FI with a modified intake and a mega squirt injection. This should produce a 100hp with a smooth running, easy starting motor. Very girl friendly. The motor from a glance looks like a Lotus.

were is the pictures. Have seen this, but was alot of custom fab work. How is yours coming.

Hmm, When you say "Spare" Tony, does that mean "For Sale?"

I'm keeping my ears open. Haven't really approached the local club yet, but once I have some funding again, I'll pass the word around.

Just remember when you get ready to buy, the A-series 1275 was in continuous production virtually unchanged from the late 60's to the late 90's. There is no shortage of them, and the price you pay should reflect that.

I can tell you how a 1275 Bugeye compares to a TR4. It's slower, but not a lot slower.

[/ QUOTE ]

Really? I have a 1098 in my Bugeye and the TR4 leaves it for dead. Is the 1275 that much stronger? (or maybe my TR4 is just extra strong - hey, I can dream right? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

1275 is the way. 1098 is a weak sister by compairson. Remember I said a warmed over 1275 80 HP (double up and catch up)and still very street driveable.
