I agree it is a simple rebuild I did my first one on a 1955 Chevrolet at 16 and for the most part they are all the same. I just converted to an alternator and it wasn`t nearly as hard as I tried to make it. I used a small 60 amp nippondenso alternator and turned spacers on the lathe and used the stock generator bracket with a long grade 8 bolt through the whole thing and then used a ford truck alternator bracket underneath to hold the belt tension. It works great, I used the stock wiring to excite the alt and run the dash light with one extra large wire back to the starter solenoid. Small,light,neat and works great. Skip
