Over the past two nights, my car has transformed itself into the TR6 I once loved.
I was at my wits end trying to sort out an overheating problem. Much of last fall and early winter was spent on this problem.
I changed thermostats several times, water pump, sending unit, and toyed with timing amd carbs. After numerous flushes, the temperature would bounce around making me think there may be a flake of rust obstructing a journal.
It has been very frustrating.
Last night, when working to pull the speedo to change the voltage stabilizer, I found that the screw holding the stabilizer had vibrated loose. The stabilizer had been losing it's ground and periodically regaining it. It just so happened to start regaining it when I began with the flushes.
Don't you love these cars.
At least I know that everything else in the cooling system is like new.
