Gearbox front cover seal

I have a smooth case front cover with scroll seal.
I'd like to machine it out and replace with rubber seal.
What's the seal dimensions and part number for the seal.
Some use metal case and some rubber coated and front and back install.
I know you can buy a cover but why make it easy.
Any advice appreciated!
Thanks

I put this seal in the front cover about 20 years ago. I just happen to have a spare in my transmission spares box.
I cross referenced some seal numbers and bought the seal form CARQUEST.
The box says the seal is a federal mogul 710254. It was made in Japan. I don't know if the number is CarQuest or FM. FM Number should be on their web page
OD is 1.260" ID 0.965" W is about 0.220. Dimensions may be off by a thousand or two as I am measuring the rubber
I had my friendly local machinist install. I cannot remember if we went in from the front or the rear. I somehow think it was pressed in from the nose side.

Thanks Joe,
That's still a good number and the dimensions look good.
Not sure if front or back will work better, will see what the machinist thinks.
Much appreciated!
Joe
