Gauge question

Been thinking about adding oil pressure and voltmeter gauges (and maybe a clock) to the Midget using the speaker grille area. Since it will be impossible to find Jaeger gauges to match the existing I might change the other gauges (speedo, tach, fuel, and temperature) so they all match. If I do this I'll probably use aftermarket gauges since Smiths will cost a small fortune.
The fuel gauge is the one that concerns me - I remember reading the full and empty ohm readings but can't find the post.
Anyone have this info handy?
Is there any other things I should watch out for with the other gauges?

Thanks

Can't help with the ohms issue, but I can suggest some nice looking and affordable street gauges: TPI-TECH

We've used them in two different "budget" street rods.

THAT is a neat web site. It's nice to see some new and different vendors for gauges. The pricing for complete gauge sets looks VERY good.

What year is the Spridget you're working on? Early and late fuel sending units should have different resistance ranges. Most gauge manufacturers should have gauges that will match what you have, you just have to measure and ask for the right one.

Since your car is a '79 the fuel sending unit should move through a range of about 240 Ohms empty to 30 Ohms full.

Most generic aftermarket ones seem to be 10 Ohms to 180 Ohms.

You're right... some of the most common senders/gauges are 0-180 ohms but if you dig, you'll find that most manufacturers offer about a half dozen ranges. Fortunately, LBCs typically match with two of the common ones, it takes a little bit of extra work to find them.
