Gas prices

It is getting harder and harder to abide by the BCF rules but I will persist. :popworm:

Still flirting with $4/gallon here, but won't be long. We're just back from a trip to New Orleans and up the Natchez Trace in our RV - at 8.5 mpg and with an 80 gallon tank, we'll be staying close to home for a while...
Same for us. Our 73 GMC will likely see more car shows than campgrounds this summer. Mind you, the car shows are enjoyable so still fun to be had.

I drive so few miles that I was not sweating the $5-$6 prices around here.
Visited my sister yesterday, 120 miles round trip, so I had to think about it.
What happened to all the mitigations we were going to implement to offset these prices?

We live 70-80s mile round trip to/from town (depending on where in town were going). Thankfully my Telluride gets decent gas milage in Econo mode (for an SUV), but we're still noticing a big increase when we fill the tank.
Your last question would requires delving too close to politics so I won't touch that one.

Back on topic, the cheapest beer I can find is about $7 per gallon. (Miller 30-pack.).

Fortunately I don’t have a turbo, so CAB does not cause pre-ignition of my motor!!

(We won’t speak of the other types of “ignition” it supposedly causes…)

My neighbor kid bought a wore out small Metro Bus for party vehicle. Cost him $500 in license plates. Started complaining about the new diesel prices. But, has lost the fuel cap and it rained pretty good. Says he isn't worried, has a water filter. Someone scawled urina» over the fuel pipe. Went out and listened to him blow a gasket.

No, too lazy. Did not put antifreeze in his Ram, but reminded his 19 yr old brother to do it. Big biy is 30, no job, has 3 non- running trucks, just blew his Dad's Dodge van. 19 yr old has 2 jobs and still in school, 30 yr old no job. I call them Samson and Dad's. Same position Tom was in. Non-respectful loud people.

Dang, Mike! I been overpayin'!

The least expensive CAB I'm willin' t' drink is $8.45 a gallon (Natty Light 24/case). And they've just issued a "retro" trade dress to celebrate 45 years. Been told by one of the Brewmasters of A-B, when it started the stuff was Michelob Light over-runs re-labeled. Sold so well at CAB prices they decided to keep running it. Marketing genius. 👍

Filled up today in PA... $4.45/gal. Next week that might seem cheap.

Beer advertising is a fascinating field. An incredible study in human psychology. For example, Coors advertises “cold“. Cold brewed, cold blue mountains on the beer can. Nothing about flavor! Heineken is only brewed in Holland. Again, nothing about the taste. And so forth - fascinating.

Gas prices here have stabilized here. We drove by the corner 7-11 at 11 AM and it was $5.91/gal. We came back at 1:30 PM and it was still $5.91.

This is the "Humor" forum, right.....?

I know - I posted, too, but still...

Got gas in the Midget yesterday - $4.2999 (ethanal-free 87).
Regular is over $4/gallon.

I spent $3.69 a gallon last night. When I last filled up over the weekend it was $3.39.

I got an email from a Friend in Mendocino,CA,
gas was $8.459 for regular yesterday.

The prices are bad, but worse is the people in the 40-45 gal small cars doing 10 miles under the limit. Har on my Rover that needs 6th gear and 55+ to get 20. Even my MINI gets nice mileage if I can get into 6th gear. Don't people realize maximum fuel mileage is at road speed?

Decided with the oil announcement I'd fill up the half a tank down I was yesterday. Figured it was probably better than waiting till the weekend since who knows if it'll stay the same or jump over the next few days.
