Same for us. Our 73 GMC will likely see more car shows than campgrounds this summer. Mind you, the car shows are enjoyable so still fun to be had.Still flirting with $4/gallon here, but won't be long. We're just back from a trip to New Orleans and up the Natchez Trace in our RV - at 8.5 mpg and with an 80 gallon tank, we'll be staying close to home for a while...
We live 70-80s mile round trip to/from town (depending on where in town were going). Thankfully my Telluride gets decent gas milage in Econo mode (for an SUV), but we're still noticing a big increase when we fill the tank.I drive so few miles that I was not sweating the $5-$6 prices around here.
Visited my sister yesterday, 120 miles round trip, so I had to think about it.
What happened to all the mitigations we were going to implement to offset these prices?
Yes it is and thank you!It is getting harder and harder to abide by the BCF rules but I will persist.![]()
Back on topic, the cheapest beer I can find is about $7 per gallon. (Miller 30-pack.).
Fortunately I don’t have a turbo, so CAB does not cause pre-ignition of my motor!!
(We won’t speak of the other types of “ignition” it supposedly causes…)
Beer advertising is a fascinating field. An incredible study in human psychology. For example, Coors advertises “cold“. Cold brewed, cold blue mountains on the beer can. Nothing about flavor! Heineken is only brewed in Holland. Again, nothing about the taste. And so forth - fascinating.Dang, Mike! I been overpayin'!
The least expensive CAB I'm willin' t' drink is $8.45 a gallon (Natty Light 24/case). And they've just issued a "retro" trade dress to celebrate 45 years. Been told by one of the Brewmasters of A-B, when it started the stuff was Michelob Light over-runs re-labeled. Sold so well at CAB prices they decided to keep running it. Marketing genius.![]()
