Funny words thread

Kinda funny word related.

Not exactly a funny word but this worm in my head first started wiggeling around, a couple of years ago.
The standard alphabet confuses me in a number of ways.
Why are there vowels and consonants, why are they different and why are they not grouped together in the alphabet?
The letters E and F are together as is I and J and M and N, but C and G and B, P and R, and O and Q are not.
U, V and W seem to be afterthoughts but at least they are together if not in order like V, U and W.
Every letter of the alphabet is one syllable, except W which has three, why, is it that so important?
Shouldn't it be written UU and have a sound like in vacuum?
Why is there a C and a K, we could loose either one and we I doubt would miss it.
The impression I get is that the alphabet is in the most haphazard arrangement that someone could assemble.

My head also has a hard time understanding why time is base 60, days are 24 hours, weeks are 7.....don't get me started on that.

Get rid of the worm in your head and you’ll be fine.

You just need a worm transplant. My worm drives me crazy asking if fish sweat. If they do, how can you tell?

But my worm has been with me a long time, putting him down is Not an option and I hate change.
