Same thing happened in the US... but they started selling 1/2 gallons which apparently the pumps could be set for. When the price of gas went from 0.99 to $1.00 - and that stupid 9/10th of a cent which is always there for some reason.Many years ago when the old rolladex pumps here in the uk reached their max display per gallon the garages put the lower price up and a sticker X2 alongside the price.
The digital pumps can display loaded more now its price per Litre
