Yep, Mine does it. Totally restored, original tank with teflon inner coating. If you pump it in full bore when it backs up to the nossel and causes the nossel to shut off it is awful close to the top of the filler. If you notice, modern cars have a baffle at the top of the filler pipe and usually a flap there as well. The Healey doesn't, its going to spew out if pumping full bore. Answer, pump slower and keep an eye on the level as it comes up. I also keep a suppel rag in the trunk which I fold into a thick pad and hold at the lower half of the filler openning to catch anything when I have not been paying attention. Keeps the gas from running down the paint work. Dave.
