TR4/4A Front Engine Plate Curve

My front engine plate curves outward at the foot mountings where the engine mounts go through. Is that normal? Engineered with a little curve? Or is my engine plate bent? The plate is flat for most the the mating surface with the block, but it's clear that where the lower curves are, toward the feet as indicated, the points of mating at each side, toward the lower part of the block, is potentially narrow, like 1/2 inch before the face departs from the block and leans toward the engine mounts. Thoughts? thx

Take a look at these pics. Look at that gap! That can't be OK can it? Makes me wonder if my oil leak was the front cover all along. Then running to the back, making me think it was the rear main seal. BTW, the other side has a similar gap. The bottom edge of the plate is essentially curved. Thanks.

I would venture to guess that motor is not the original one to the car and was probably pulled out of wreak. I recently removed the front plate off of a TR4 engine that I pulled out of a wreaked car. It was bent very bad. I put a TR3 plate on it for a TR3 I plan to put back on the road. Don't think I would try to repair yours. I have some TR4 plates.

Looking at mine this weekend, mine looked straight and hugged the block. No curve like yours.
