Front Caliper mounting? +

So I am making progress, I think, on the BE project. Bought this painted tub and bonnet and "tons" of parts in Nov. I too now have a ton (read $) of new and used parts. Front and rear suspension are on and am installing the front brakes. I'm not sure I have the caliper mounted on the correct side. The Bentley manual has the bleed screw at the bottom. Won't that make it hard to get the air out? Picture below is of the left side. Do I need to take it off and put it on the other side?
Also, PO bought new rear springs. Now that everything is installed in the back, the limit straps are about 1 1/2" too short (with the axle jacked up). Do I just drive it (read: when it is together), and wait until the rear "settles?"
Thanks in advance for your gracious help!
Scott

In that picture the bleed screw is at the top. That is correct.

The rally spec springs make the rear of the cars set up too high. I removed a few leafs and added a wedge to bring mine down to the height I wanted. I would not make these adjustment until you get everything back on the car and the spare in the boot. In the meantime you could put a few bags of sand back there to start the settling process.

The whole idea of the bleeder being on top in air in the system rises to the top, if the bleeder were on the bottom, you'd never get the air out fo the system.

and shouldn't that tab washer be folded over against the bolts

:iagree: Good catch  !! Yes it should, both top and bottom!

thanks for the help!
Yes, and the bolts should be torqued to spec too.
Waiting for your good advice before I finish!
