Front bumper brackets - BJ8

Both my cars have been popped in the front end and the bumper and brackets have been bent. How straight are the inner brackets supposed to be (with the exception of the 90 degree bend at the bumper)? I'm thinking they should be very straight. Is this correct?

Thanks,

Robert

Hello Robert,

You are correct.

Here's some photos of the brackets on my 64 BJ8.

Happy Motoring!

Thanks for the reply with the photos, Roger. They've answered my second question also on how the splash guard mounts (neither car has one). I finally got the brackets off the bumper today as they were welded on due to the threaded insert they attach to breaking loose and rotating. I'll take the brackets to work tomorrow and pound them back flat again.

Robert

PS - your car looks great.
