Fried tach

Installed the new Smiths today. Easy as pie.
The programing was a hoot. The tach needle
serves as the indicator of cylinder numbers.
1k for each number of cylinders.
You plug in a toggle switch and bump it for number of cylinders.
I just had to bump it to 12 for giggles.
Back to 4 before I fired her up.
Disconnected the toggle after programming.
Very steady movement. Fluid motion.
Did a couple of 7k run ups on the way to topping off the tank.
Look out CMP.

Pics
Kind of weird having the idle at 6 o' clock
but me likie having the shift points at high noon. :driving:

Cool but it does not look original for a BE, suppose they make one for us. Nice for most of you folks but Miss Agatha would not be happy.

I agree Jack. Bumper to bumper there isn't much stock left in Mimi other than a body. Even the paint is custom.
LOL...pick a part, any part and it's been modified.
I'd kill to have a jewel like Miss Agatha but I like flogging 'em too much.
While Mimi is modded all to heck it is a period custom.
I try to use Brit stuff wherever possible.
Now the ol lady's MGB is a whole different story.
Bone stock and it'll stay that way. I did convince her to
let me put some minilite type wheels on her baby.
Granny says "That's why they make chocolate AND vanilla.".

Looks like the buggys are at home and doing well. lol

Looks good Dave. I think it would take me a while to get used to the idle being straight down.

So... what's the plan for the damaged VDO tach (he asks greedily)?

You might like to know that your old AutoMeter tach had a good run this weekend for the Gold Cup races at VIR.
