TR2/3/3A Free Parts

So the transmission is the full synchro.
He just means synchro on all forward gears. Still no synchro in reverse.

No, Steve, I think I'm keeping the tranny. It's funny that the tunnel was on for the last 2 years, so I never saw the tranny. I pulled the tunnel off last week, but didn't take the time to even glance at the tranny. Even taking the pic, I just framed and snapped without paying attention. All my attention was on the tub. I probably wouldn't have given it the time of day until I pulled it for somebody! But Jerry is much sharper than I am...he noticed about 5 minutes after I posted the pic.

I am running a TR4 tranny in the TR3 right now, but the case in that one had to be welded up for the counter shaft to fit snuggly. It's working great, but I am concerned for it in the long term with the alignment on all those welds. I have been shopping for a replacement case for almost a year. In all this time, I never dreamed a good case was sitting in the back yard! I just assumed it had the TR3 box.

John this is like a shark feeding frenzy to me. I am starting to eyeball that lawn furniture you have the parts sitting on.

Hi John, did you happen to receive my pm replies? I tried a few but don't see them in the sent folder, kinda strange. When you have a chance let me know... thanks! Tim

Funny Steve! It is a better reaction than I was expecting...

I got it Tim. I should have it boxed and gone in a couple days...

Hello John

Have just joined this Forum.

Did not see the steering wheel mentioned. I have just purchased a TR3A in pieces and one of the pieces that was missing is the steering wheel.

Best regards
David

Welcome David!

No, sorry but I actually had to buy a used wheel from Marvin Gruber. I've got the original, but it doesn't have much plastic grip on it. Just a steering wire.

I'm starting to get many questions about other parts. If you can't see what you are looking for in the pics, then I don't currently have any extras.

Ooooo hand crank brace I need one of those as well! I should fly down to TX, and see all that there and do a carry on package. If you've not shipped mine stuff can you throw in the brace?
thanks

Packed, but not shipped yet, Eddy...I'll throw in the crank brace.

JP, I do have the upper column...Geo got the lower with the gear.

Hello John

Thank you.

I think I can get a reproduction one from TRF.

One of your photos identified a mystery part for me. I have boxes of parts of a TR3A taken apart in 1998 approximately.

Best regards
David

OK...I sent 7 packages out today, so most of the parts are on their way.

I did not send the brake handle to Tim or the steering gear to Geo yet, as those two are odd sizes and I need to find something to put them in. Also, Paul has asked for a couple parts that I did not get until tonight.

They all went out USPS, by the cheapest shipping they had, so look for them in 3-10 days. I've PM'd the shipping costs individually...

Dollar stores have a great selection of padded envelopes. I am not concerned with the USPS damaging the the lever, you could just fold a piece of cardboard over it and tape the edges. Thanks!

Finally got the last of the parts out on Friday, 4 Mar. Whew...I had no idea the response would be so big, but very glad the parts are going to good use.

I sent PM's with shipping to Tim, Geo, and Paul.

At the end of the summer I will likely revive this thread one last time to clean out my 3 years of restoration accumulation. After that I'll have no need for extra parts...will just have to maintain the 2 cars I have!
