One option to consider is having Macy's do a mechanical-only restoration. I had that done last winter and only had to schedule it two-three months in advance. I delivered the car in mid-December (2018), they began work after Christmas and had it ready at the end of March. I considered a frame-on restoration, but Macy's no longer does that, but will do a full mechanical rebuild (motor, gearbox, OD and diff). I also had them redo the rear suspension, steering, put in a new heater and a Moto-Lita steering wheel I had purchased.
Mark agreed that I didn't "need" a full FO restoration as the body work that was required was, in truth, minor and could be done by any competent body shop. The body work is planned for after the first of the year (dings and dents, mainly, the paint is good) by a local shop that works on TRs. I did have Macy's do my front suspension in October, so now my car is mechanically "perfect" and a joy to drive. I may have Macy's put in a new interior later next year, they will source the Skinner's kit themselves.
As far as I'm concerned, Macy's is the best.
