Driving around Sunday saw this sticking out of the woods - got out, looked it over, took a few pictures. Guy that apparently owns the property lives in a train caboose and the entire place looks like a junkyard. I'm thinking $300 may go a long way...indoor plumbing or a new still maybe?

I'm going back up there tomorrow night. If I don't get shot, what should I offer?

Looks to be a '72 maybe? Car's pretty straight, pretty solid, no telling how long the tarp has been off of it, interior just okay, all gauges etc. still in the dash. I know someone that can use the engine if we don't do anything else with it.

looks in good shape ... surprised you were brave enough to take pictures given your description of the place. glad you're still with us. i would think 300-500 if all is there. no telling what the underside looks like but from the outside it's pretty nice. top cover looks whole as well
 
wires, chrome bumbers, square arch car...i would start at 200...maybe, depends on how the floors are. the hubs are worth that.

Not a '72. Might be a '71 or '70. $200 Sounds like a good starting point if it is more solid than it looks. And if it is not parting it out will make you back the $200.
 
It's solid. Rust in the normal areas, floors looked okay. When I opened up the door I half expected a few snakes *shudder* and other varmits to crawl out. Interior's decent, top's good, surprisingly. And I did 'peek' underneath as best I could (think snakes again) - in much better shape than I expected.

I should have taken pictures of the entire joint for your viewing pleasure.

It looks like a late '69 to '71 car to me. $200 is a good starting price. You would certainly be able to recoup that if you wanted to take the engine and tranny out for a RB car and sell the wire conversion on Ebay along with some other parts.
 
If we parted it out, the engine would go to Brian (my son) - he has a '75 RB and an overdrive to install.

I think I can get back whatever I buy it for. And if we decide to do a quick (read: easy) restore, a few times over that.

Around here that's a $50 to $100 car....sitting like that, the suspension will need a thorough going through & front suspensions on Midgets don't come apart easily...plus, there's nothing unusual about it...old Midgets that have sat in the woods/backyard for some time are parts cars regardless of condition of body!

I crushed several Midgets in that condition last summer just because there's no market for them or their parts. Start with $50 - maybe $100 since its near St Lo

Around here they don't go for $50-100. And they're scarce in the woods. Suppose they just don't grow as well up here.

That being said that midget looks like it's begging to be saved from that yard, so for $200 you get your xmas shopping for your son taken care of, and you've still got a motorless shell to part out.

I probably should have added that parting that motorless shell will definatly make you more than 200 bucks.

I won't lose money. Gauges, wire conversion, steering wheel, top frame, chrome bits (I'm a great polisher now) etc.

If I thought I'd lose money, I wouldn't make an offer on it.

Geez, it's in way better shape than Binabox was when I got her and the 478 boxesobits.

Nope, have been in and driven a Bugeye. Unless I can dump a bigger engine in one, don't want a Bugeye.

For flat out fun driving, the Midget beats the B, hands down.

Besides, then I'll let Chuck get his A, then I'll get my GT or C...

And of course, we can fix up the Midget for the little parasite. In 16 1/2 years it'll be getting its driver's license.
