Found the vibration noise

After much searching, I found it. It was the metal pipe that runs from the carbs to the carbon canister. It was vibrating against the fire wall exactly at the spot where a clamp was missing. That's why the sound appeared to be coming from under the dash. I guess it sort of was under the dash but on the opposite side of the fire wall. Thanks again to all Who contributed solutions to my dilemma.

Interesting. Thanks for the update!

Much funny.

Transmission of sound can make ya crazy.

Glad it weren't a critical bit o' parts!

Funny noise's in the car make me think of Niagra Falls!, Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch, honey hold this steering wheel while I crawl around the car looking for that NOISE!
