Mostly good news at least - I've had a mini-stroke due to a
congenital vascular defect in my brain. It happened apparently
3 months ago when I woke up wth a rather awful headache. The
day after some dental work. I ASSumed the two were related.
A wrench I ain't; a diagnostic doctor even less I ain't!
Got busy with Christmas, new years, friends visiting, taking
a cruise, charity work, etc. Bad headache constantly. Popping
Motrin like candy- 5000 mg a day.
Went and got a needless root canal just in case-nope
Took antibiotics for three weeks-nope
Got eye exam and new glasses- nope-still headache.
FINALLY after all this nonsense and expense, this 59 year old
fool went to the Doctor who immediately scheduled a high
priority MRI for first thing this morning. Within 4 fours hours
they had the images and called to have me pick them up and see
my doctor A.S.A.P. Scared me to death that things happened so
fast.
A mini-stroke with the headaches as aftershocks from the tiny
bit of internal bleeding. I will slowly recover and the
headaches will dull away.
Gentleman and friends: Don't be a stubborn ass like me. I was
darned lucky-this time. We are all getting up there in our average
member's age. If you have a pain in your head or chest-
go see your doctor immediately.
I was lucky, plain and simple.
best regards
