Can someone tell me the correct adjustment for the float hinged lever for an HD8 (BJ8) carb. I know you can place a drill bit between the float chamber cover and the hinged lever, but I can not remember the drill bit size for the HD8 carb adjustment. 7/16??? maybe. Don't have my manual handy and had a leaky float.

Used the 7/16 drill bit; only dropped the needle onto the garage floor twice, but found it both times. Turned out to have rust in the bottom of the float chamber. Ended up changing the fuel tank (I had a spare) and adding a fuel filter.
Then I noticed the outer rear muffler had rusted out, so I changed both of them. A little trouble getting the inner off the tail pipe, but finally prevailed with a cutting wheel.
Bottom line, it must be Spring and time to find Healey chores.
