Fitting anti-squeal kit to front calipers on BT7?

Hi all,
I recently replaced the front calipers on my BT7 (https://www.britishcarforum.com/bcf/showthread.php?106036-BT7-brales-poor-stopping-power-any-advice). I've "bedded" these in using the described technique but now they have to started to squeal when breaking from low speeds. There were no anti squeal shims on the vehicle. I believe that originally no such items were fitted.

I intend to retro-fit a anti squeal shim kit (from AH Spares) to the BT7 (www.https://www.ahead4healeys.co.uk/KIT---ANTI-SQUEAL---INC--PINS---CLIPS-id1178.aspx ) and am looking for advice on how to fit.

I believe the shims are inserted following the direction of the arrow. Should I use any brake grease on the back of the pads or shims?
Would it be best to chamfer the pads? if so where?

Thanks for any 13264.jpgadvice.

There is tubes of anti-squeal lube to put on back of pads on cup side. Or you can get the adhesive stick on pads, that are cut to fit.

The arrow points in the direction of rotor rotation.

If the tube provided is a grease-type product, use that. It is applied between the shim and the back of pad. If anyone ever needs an appropriate lubricant for this application, it can be acquired at a Toyota dealership in small single use packets. Sorry, I don't have the part number but can get it tomorrow.

The "stick-on" type shims seem to be less effective in the long run.

I have used copper grease over the last 10 years and find it very effective, I put a little on the piston side and a bit more against the pads - no problems so far.
I find that it dries out a bit ( or takes in the brake dust) and becomes very sticky but still works.

If the tube provided is a grease-type product,

Order you some Coppa Slip apply in the same manner. Works ah Treat.
