Finally got my front bumper!

Nope, never there - deny - deny -deny

Never....& we didn't go into Laos either!

Me too, was never in Sudan or Syria or Oman or any of those other places either.

Especialy on the ground, gesh what a smell.

& I never made it into Iraq during Desert Storm either...hehehehe

You know, I started my Army career in combat in Vietnam & ended it in combat in Kuwait!

How come I was USAF and on the ground? Oh, Logistics Operations, that's it. Had sites all over the place. Was a good 29 years, lots of fun and memories.
Ahhh, did some birdy stuff as well, that's operations too ya know and a lot cleaner.

"I have a friend" who was there...and yea, he took a big silver bird there, but had to jump out of a perfectly good bird with a parachute. I don't know what he did while he was there, but he didn't get no stamp on his passport!

mehheh. s'wot I said too: "TDY WHERE?!?!" Lotsa folks STILL think all we zoomies did was from the air... I know a few FAC fellas who'd dispute th' notion, not to mention bein' onna deck meself makin' purty pitchurs of 'em "In Performance of the Air Force Mission."

Coulda/woulda stayed, but the ~politics~ surrounding my AFSC was too crazy for my taste... Figgered there was a Pulitzer "out there" somewhere for me and I needed to chase it... That's still goin'on, albiet with less enthusiasm now: It contributed to ending the marriage to First Wife ('69~'76).

"Long Story" and may be told one day. Over some single malt Scotch. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have changed my Scotch preference to JW Black. Man that is good stuff.

Lived in Houch in Cambodia with a couple of FACs. Crazy guys.

Funny, mine's ALWAYS been Walker Black!

One'a them weren't a short fella name'a "W*****" was it? Smoked them li'l DeNobli gnarly ceegars...

He was about the craziest of the crazy USAF FAC's I ever ran across... All the OTHER ones were like Tony: Floppy Green Hats. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The crazy one was a Briggs Dogood (sp). Was a Raven from Laos during another life.

ohboy. s'pose Cambodge was a Holiday to HIS way of thinkin' then.

I guess we'll just not mention anymore names now... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Funny looking aircraft. Boy I thoght the porters were good looking. You know later on we had a Stalion verson with a 20MM gatling gun in the side. Whoooohaaaaa.
