I'd like to be a ricebug onna wall then. I wuz usually inna back seat of *whatever*, listenin' and photo'n from "the side". OV's were the GREAT photo chase birds...

hard to 'chase' th' Weasel in one tho /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Glad everyone enjoyed the chatter. Been a long long time. No flashbacks, just the goodtimes and friendships remain.

Well maybe a broken bird or two.

Happy new year guys. May the new year almost finish your project. Seems they are no fun if finished.

Roight, Jack. No flashbacks and many good memories... Just last June a fellow 601st Rat Pack'r and I were able to meet again after thirty-plus years of trying to find one-another. He's a "Bent Nail": OV-10, tail hit with a SAM. Onna way out he'd caught the instrument panel with a knee and went in with a broken leg... Helluva story, too. T'was as if only a week had passed since we'd seen eachother... 'cept for th' bit about th' HAIR, IYKWIM /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hmm...Sam v OV-10. Sam wins every time.
I ran into an old Raven buddy a year or so ago, and it was as though we hadn't seen each other in a week. We both still have hair, too.

Argh... Mitch and I musta done something ~wrong~ then: We're both billiard ball smooth. Musta been something 'funny' happenin' in th' photo hooch. Mebbe film off-gassing or somesuch. Or it was YOU GUYS always with th' O2 masks. Bottled oxygen must have some kinda hair preservin' property.

I will -reluctantly- admit I know about that bit.

Well, I went to bed early...but, had I hung around I would'a said:

"Roger, this is Black Magic 59, purple smoke to my 12 o'clock...coming up on guards."

Ya guys are scaring me.... I aint doing "Dust Off 4" no more!

Nahh... as Jack stated above, just some line chatter for entertainments' sake and a bit of remembrance as well.
"...we'll drink a cup of kindness yet, for Old lang syne..."

No E&E, no dust-off, no SAR, no mission North...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! to all. And whichever dieties be, may they keep watch o'er those of our young'un's standing In Harm's Way so far from their homes.

Amen, Doc!

Roger that.

Yessir, and, if I may add, "To absent friends."

Ralph, no worries, my friend. Just some of us jammin' about things past.
Yay! No more "Route Pac 6."
Jeff

And no Cambodian missions, gesh.

Cambodia?!? What's that? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cowboy.gif

Just down the road. Get on the funny silver bird with no markings and get off at the other end. Spent almost a year there.

Wife was even there for a bit as a guest of the ambassadors wife. Ahhh, she was there longer than expected, we could not get her out, hehe. She has some stories to tell as well, but keeps very quiet about the experience. 1972-1973

First Wife did basically the same, in Thailand. At about the same date as well. She's a polyglot, gregarious, made friends easily. Whole town knew her whereabouts: the off-base taxi drivers would give me a report as to where she'd been all day, whom she'd visited with, what I could expect for dinner... weren't NOTHIN' gonna happen to THAT round-eye. She had to renew the visa every couple months, and the last time she and a buddy (Thai girl, the Bent Nail's wife) left Thailand and returned with a Lao (!) visa/stamp! Only one I've ever known with a Laos stamp in their passport /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

'course Mitch an' I were on pins 'n needles waiting at the "WARNING!" signs on the Thai side of the crossing... argh.

Hehe, wife has one of those as well, she liked Laos.

"We" were never there, RIGHT?!?!
