After three months at the chromer's it's now on th' car... "First fitment" today. Gotta do some tweaking but it looks fairly good. I'm hopin' I can park 'er ~somewhere~ in the vicinity of John Moore's car (not TOO close, mind you) in Gatlinburg come June... without gettin' egg'd for bein' a posin' git /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

LOL! Too funny. Where did you get the chrome job done? With my '70 splits re-chroming was the only option. ($350 Ouch!) I bought the Moss repro for the front. We'll see how she looks.

Post a photo of yours when you get her bolted up.

Chrome was done by a shop I've used for years for client's cars. He "fitted me in" so unfair to give pricing (got th' "family discount").

When I get it all "tuned up" I'll put up a photo... I'd hate for THESE PEOPLE to see it currently.

Not really, I'm just too lazy to go thru th' process ATM. Gonna stay around th' hovel this eve: gotta get ready as we're goin' to a neighbor's house for a BBQ pig-out and to watch th' neighborhood urchins immolate themselves settin' off illegal ordinance. I ~may~ post some pix of THAT /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Tony,

I used Sandy's Bumper Mart in Rochester, NY. It was done with the recommendation of several guys in my car club up here. Like I said, I paid $350 for the pair. They are BEAUTIFUL, but I don't know if I got a good deal or not.

On the other BBS, several guys have recommended Knox Chrome 888-588-4552. They are in TN. I've not used them, but I've heard they have better prices and do a great job.

Illegal ordnance, in Florida? I didn't think there was such a thing.

I've seen some of Knox's Chrome and they'll be getting my business. They aren't really expensive, and they do wonderful work. Someone I know had a B front bumper done by them, and after a month or so, the chrome started to crack/split right around the bumper mounting holes. Knox took it back and is redoing it for him for free. That's good customer service.

Then again, someone else I know had a TA front grille done by them, and they removed so much of the metal that it got way to thin and ripply. He had to pay lots more to get all that fixed by a different place, then rechromed all over again.

I was having a case of the "huhs?" but I get it now. Personally I'm thankful I don't have memories like that in my head, but I thank all you guys who do.
I'd love to listen to the radios between cars on the way to a show. I bet you guys would be fun.
Happy new year.
