'envelopes' for winter car storage

One other item I figure I'll do is pull the plugs and spray the inside of the cylinders with fogging oil.
Doug

foging oil is good in fact any old oil sprayed in is good.

So far i fill it up with gas, put it in the garage, put up the top and put the battery on a trickle charger oh and use some Stabil in the tank and come spring start it up and drive off - so far so good.

Put an old sheet over it JP. Makes it easy to clean in the spring.

Got thinking about the inflatable bubbles again last night and checked a couple of ads that advise that they are for indoor storage only. I'm assuming UV is the concern; has anyone tried using one outside with a cheap tarp (or car cover) over it to protect it from the sun? I like the idea that the fan keeps the cover away from the paint, and presume that it will also handle a bit of weight from the tarp as well as a bit of a snow load (no,we are having summmer here - it was several years ago that we last had snow on Aug.1st).
Thanks
Doug

My wife bought me a coverking cover a couple of years ago for Xmas.As this area is very damp in the winters it was a perfect solution for me. its a very high gloss "Absolutely Red" acrylic enamel and I really like this color. The cover is very soft inside and it has that aluminized appearance on the exterior-it is also stitched together for my specific vehicle and it works great-no scratches on the convertible top rear window and the paint looks great.I store my car up on jackstands all winter and I love this cover, I also use a dehydrating system to keep the moisture under control as I have cars and cycles inside all winter and both have never had any cylinder issues or rust problems

A note from "Car Capsule": "Our outdoor versions will be available in 2013"

Doug

We purchased two outdoor car capsules; one has been up for a year and a half continuously; the other was up over the winter and the car is on the road now. Very pleased with performance and support from the manufacturer. Some comments and suggestions: more than maybe 1.5 inches of snow and the fans can't keep up. You need to have access to the capsule to brush the snow off; also need to be able to move the snow away from the sides to ensure you don't get icing (footing problems). We got quite a bit of water (which froze) in the one that I had poor access to. I'm guessing that it came through the fan entrance when the power source failed. Also buy a second set of fans. The manufacturer has been great regards warranty (one set of fans seized as the plastic case deformed), but there is still a time delay. I also had trouble with the male/female electrical connection coming undone right at the fans; I've tied them together since.
