Engine out engine in engine out engine in again!

And running and shifting!

Thanks to Glen for letting me know about the backplate difference between the ribcase and the smooth.

Pulled the engine and tranny out and had it back in and running within 7 hours and this time I did almost all of the work with hubby turning some of the screws that he tightened too much for me to budge.

Now I just need to find someone to fine tune the weber carb and get my brake light switch in so I can drive it to the title office and get my registration and title. Haven't been able to do that since I could not drive it and here you have to have a visual inspection to get your title if you buy from outta state.

Other than that I washed it up, more scratches on it now from our repairs but figure those will be gone soon with the new paint job this fall. Cleaned up the carpet as best as I could and he is looking good. Got two compliments from people driving by it as I was drying it off!

Once I get my tags I will get some new pictures of me and the car up.

Thanks again so much!!!!

WOOHOO!!!

Is that sorta like the song "you put your left foot in, you put your left foot out, you put your left foot in & shake it all about..."?

Seriously, congrats!

Very nice. Looking forward to the pics.

Thanks, now I just need to find some new jets for the weber carb. I am having some tuning issues with it and after calling around the shops here I think I may be able to rebuild it myself better than some of these other places.

Do you guys notice that if you shift from 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th that if you shift deliberatly and even let the gear shift rest in N for about half a second that the gears do not grind? Is this normal? If I shift quickly then I get grinding.

Yep, normal function. Always hesatate between gears.

I agree completely, rebuild it yourself... I just did mine, and even for someone who had never done it before, it was dead simple (works great now).

Great Job! Remember if it was easy, anyone could do it. Many people would love to have a LBC, but few are willing to do what it takes to enjoy them.

Nice work, Rachael. Hope the driving comes soon for you -- it's the best part!

I checked my order with Moss and my brake light switch will be here on the 5th. I also did some research last night with Joe and found out that this is a common problem what I am experiencing with the Weber so I am going to take your guys' advice (again!) and attempt to fix the problem myself.

And yes I am glad I didn't crush the little car /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
