I'm way behind the curve here. I only have two engines. One in the car, and one awaiting machine work. I just ordered some POR15 for my cars underside, and I see in their catalog, they offer MG Maroon in their engine paint.

I may give that stuff a go, along with Glyptal on the inside. I know it is probably a waste of time, going into a GK block, but it is what I have.

I've got "L" heads and "H" heads but now I really gotta know what an "X" head is.

Oh and I can't wait for my head to come in from the machinist. Magnafluxed, New valves seals and guides. Ported & Polished. Ohh goody!! New Crane Cam and Valve springs on the way too!!

One thing you might notice is that the "X" heads are all pre-air rail.....{<span style="font-style: italic">I started to give another hint but changed my mind.</span>}

I did notice that much. How bout another clue? The head that is coming back to me is a 74 so it's not an "X" head. I do have three others that are pre rail though.

They are stud mounted Yella Terras roller rockers from Australia.
They cost more than most folks spend on rebuild parts :smile: With custom puhrods you looking at about $1400 rocker arms and pushrods. Let me tell you I said a few curse words getting pushrod lengths correct to optimize the valve geomentry, difinately not for the faint of heart or budget, that what's cool about my job, I get to play with other folk's goodies.

This engine engine was almost as trick as any race engine I ever built, Acme custom 8.0 to 1 JE pistons with Total seal rings, Sean Brown did the head, Hans Peterson S/C cam, APT CF-04 lifter, Basil Adams one piece aluminum lifter cover, modded by me to have a breather tube, all ARP, Rollmaster vernier timng set, Tri metal bearing, blueprinted and balanced, Hi Flow Serpintine pulley set, Rivergate 5spd kit. Not may pieces missed on this engine. I'm going to write a article on it, it will end up in some magazine, it's probably one of the most specific street S/C built engines built in the US at this time, I'm sure someone will chime and say they have done this or doing one though, we going to do before and after dyno testing on the two engines. This drivetrain is pretty much a all out effort for the Supercharger. You don't even want to know what all this cost, imagine what a good restored pull handle MGB is worth and you're close.

As Rick mentioned my B engine is Austin Healey green. I got this idea from seeing another guy who had painted his B engine Austin Green. I love maroon engines in an MGB, but didn't like the idea of a maroon engine in a red car.

No, not really. I get more grief or comments on how super clean I keep the bay than the color. Then again, it's not like I'm doing concurs.

Yes the big Healey met. green is a very nice engine color, I did a Midget engine this color not long ago, also I don't think I ever saw a MGB engine done in BMC olive green and that's a great looking engine color as well.
Here's look at the BMC olive green on a Spridget motor.

Another neat color. I've got a 69 Sprite 1275 here in the metallic light green. I like the color.
