Emma's sick

Hehe, Kenny. He is a big monkey. But I do know that he did only use hand tools, because I was in the garage with him when he was doing it.

I had an 85 toyota truck in college. the 3 nuts on the exhaust flange were conatantly working loose. I finally broke down and bought new lock nuts for it and ta-da! it never happened again.

Janel, you are the best.

The flange on the down pipe looks like it may be unbolted or down from the manifold. I used to have this problem in the past when the shops would bend the pipe for me before they were available from aftermarket sources.

BTW, thanks for making me feel soooo old. Grecian formula check, heh

How'd I make you feel so old?

I went back out with a flashlight a bit ago before Chuck came home. I'm 99% certain the nut just came off. Whew. Easy fix for my little hands.

As I remember it is studs in the manifold and nuts.

Janel,
Sorry to hear that Emma is not well!
When you re install the flange you may consider using different lock nuts such as the expanding, AKA Flexloc or distorted thread lock nut. I have been using these more and more lately and they don't ever seem to loosen up on their own.
You can find them here;

Search for lock nuts.

One more thing you might check - or tell us about. When in neutral, do you have the noise at all, like with the clutch in or the clutch out?

Did you try pushing in the clutch when it was making the noise and did the noise change?
