Eight sexiest cars.....on MSN.com this morning

Bret and Walt, I'm with you guys on the splitback Vette, very hot car. My father had one, it was one of the 4 vettes he owned back before I was born, 58, 62, 63, 67. Funny rumor I've heard though, when the car came out some people complained that the spine that split the rear window blocked rearward vision. When the 64's came out, with the one piece rear glass, some of these people had the spines in their 63's cut out and a 64 one piece rear glass fitted in place. I don't know if thats true, but I bet those people would be kicking themselves if they still owned the car today, given what they are worth in original form and since that spine is what makes the 63 unique.

I think if I had my choice though of any vette, it would still be a C2, but I'd want the 67 big block coupe, L71 package (427 w/ 3 dueces/435hp) with the muncie 4 speed. That car is just a monster, 460 ft/lbs of torque. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Hey Scott,

The rumor is true. While I don't know the actual numbers many 63 coupe owners did change to the solid rear glass. It wasn't until many years later that they (or a subsequent owner) realized the horable mistake. Mater-a-fact I remember Brock mentioned at the Barret Jackson auctions that one of the things Vette experts check for on 63's is to see if the windows where ever modified then later returned to original.

As for the 67 big block certainly on my must have dream list. But if we’re talking about strictly "SEXY" I don’t think I would consider it as such. Kind'a in the same way many have commented about the Mustang & the Pantara – definitely a muscular beast with a major “cool” factor. But I don’t think I’d use sexy to describe it. I’d reserve that word for a lot of other vehicles long before I would apply it to that particular C2.
