Is this cool or what? One of the "Apps" that you can download for yor iPhone or iPod Touch (after forking over $13) turns the little fella into a dynomometer!
Yes, that's right - the program you install on the iPod/Phone uses the 3-axis accelarometers built into the device to measure acceleration as you tear up the road, and based on that gives speed, distance and, after dialing in the weight of the car - the horsepower! All you need is a quiet length of road, (not quied for long) and fom a stoped start, "put the boot in" as they say.

Got it loaded on my iPod Touch and itis easy to use, and seems pretty accurate (gave me my speed bang-on). And no GPS required.
