Dry fitted the HS6 today..

He really does a nice job on those filters. Miss Agatha has a set as well.

yeah, it's a work of art IMO! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Whatever is in the crankcase will work in the carb. You can experiment with other stuff, but it isn't really much of a difference, IMO.

I meant for the filter element. It needs to be oiled before using it. The instructions that came with the filter says motor oil will work, and went on to say that I can also use filter element oil from a motor cycle shop.

I was just wondering if "air filter oil" actually worked any better than using motor oil, or if there was any reason why I would want to use it instead of just using motor oil on the filter.

Ahh... mia culpa.

"filter oil" is a bit lighter. Wicks/drains faster. 10W oil would be okay, but I'd go requisition some filter oil and use it for the initial setup/install.

On the race car, we use some very light oil that comes in a spray can. Must be available from the usual sources.

good to know. I'll look for some at the parts stores while I'm out gathering raw materials for my fabrications this weekend.

I haven't set foot into a 2-wheeler shop in over a decade. I'd feel a bit out of place in one of those shops.

PAM cooking spray?!?! The "Butter 'n Garlic" flavour!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

...you can tell everyone it's an Italian sprotscar... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

lol!

Or it's an LBC with a bit of Italian flavor to spice things up /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif

That can truly describe the Michelotti designed Triumphs! You would need Garlic Olive Oil to do the same to your B instead of the Pam. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

mix in some crushed garlic, chopped onions, and sausage and sauté over low heat... mmmm mmmm good. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

never mind the spongy bits from the air filter; it's good roughage /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
