That looks great. I used a fiberglass / fabric compound that seals everything up like steel. It's super hard.
Had to put some new metal over some bad spots then the glass / fabric mixture.
Just waiting to get back from the paint shop before everything goes back on.
On vacation now - or else I attach a pic.

That looks like GREAT work man! Good for you! I recently discovered on my Bugeye, that the DPO welded new metal over the old metal in the floors. UGGG! The same thing happened with my B. I wonder how bad it will be when I cut out the patches. I'm sure it won't look pretty.

Thanks guys! I'm putting it up on jackstands now, so I can get started with the headers & Weber conversion! More pix to follow...
And John, it can't look any worse than my Rabbit floors, I don't think!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Take comfort in the fact that the panels are available, relatively inexpensive, and not too much of a bear to install!

Suggestions as to what I should use to replace the asphalt soundproofing? Hopefully something relatively commonly available?

Pedal box & assy painted & reassembled... boy, those clutch MC nuts are hard to reach! 
Ah well, it's all back together now... Almost ready to put the fender back on, although I might wait until I've decided on where the Crane Fireball XR700 will sit. There might just be room for it above the wiper motor.
Milo's never going to be concours, but at least I won't be embarassed to open the hood when I'm done!!
