door check strap

Haven't been on for a while. Been busy with grand kids. I ordered a check strap for my TR6 and it did not come with the 2 parts I need most. The first is the part that bolts to the door and attaches to the check strap. The other part is the one that goes in the fender and the strat slide through and holds the door open. Does any one have these parts or know where I can find them? I checked TRF and VB. They do not have them. I have the door rigged up so that it won't open too far, but it ain't pretty. Help, Pete

I got 2 new door stop arms a few weeks ago and have
been trying to design something around the door hole.
Both sides of my car exterior have scars where the PO
was too lazy to install the door stops.

Yipes, looks like you may have to dissassemble the door to put new equipment in the strap hinge...

Tinster, Looks like all you need is the spring clip that holds the door open. It is item 4a referenced in the Moss link provided by Kodanja. I have attached a pic of what the door post opening should look like with the clip installed.

69 TR, my driver side door hinge that connects to the check strap wore through and broke. This hinge was originally installed and welded from the inside of the door. I have not found a source for this door component, so when the times comes to reskin my door, I will fabricate a new hinge, grind off the old stub, then weld it in.

Thanks guys. I will check with Moss Motors about the parts. If they don't have them I guess I can fabricate something a little less primitive.

I had a post a while back about transmission oil for an overdrive transmission. I read the article from Quantumechanics and I guess I will go with the 30 wt non-detergent oil when I change, unless someone has a horror story about the 30 wt.

I'm using Redline MT90 with my overdrive. No complaints or leaks so far!
