Don't try this at home!

Excellent news. Rest and recovery for you!

Hey David:

Good news on the surgery. I'll bet you're going to appreciate a painless back more than you ever knew. Don't bogart the bugeye again.

Sounds like your Dr is a great mechanic

Check out the procedure. Drill two itty bitty holes.
They blow up a ballon with one. Like fixing a flat.
Get the sucker all positioned correctly then use 2nd
hole to pump in the cement. As cement goes in it displaces
the ballon and retains the correct position.

I'm still a little sore but I gotta tell ya those dreams
this afternoon were fantastic. Heck I was flying in
one dream.

Goooooood news, IMHO. Glad to hear all was a success. WOOHOO!

Glad it worked out well.

I'll probably get this post pulled for being political which I find very peculiar for a forum based in what some call The Land of the Free , but anyway.....

$1400 a month health care :eeek: HOW MUCH!

My baseline for this is of course (living in the UK) that our healthcare is free at the point of delivery, as it is in many other western countries. Yes we pay for it in tax, but NOTHING LIKE that much.

The thing that is completly beyond my comprehension is why some Americans have been out on the streets protesting about the suggested Health care changes when (those who can afford it) are currently paying an extraordinary amount for private cover?

I accept that the NHS (our medical system) is not perfect but my experience of it, particularly when in and emergency, has been excellent.

Sure $1400 a month is a lot of dough but look at what I got for my $.
NO WAITING. Doc scheduled me a.s.a.p.
Best Docs in the world! My Doc was educated PRIVATELY in the finest schools of the world.
This hospital is cream of the crop and doesn't have an ER
so they can get fast relief for those who can pay.
There is a reason people from around the world come here for medical attention and isn't cause it's cheap or State provided.
I wonder if such cutting edge expensive surgery is even an option in most of the world, UK included.
My wife's medical expenses would exceed the $1400 a month...EVERY month.
This isn't going to cost me but $10...co-pay on my drugs bill.
Guess capitalism is good if you can afford it.
It's been good to me. Poor boy who worked his way through a long schooling without ANY assistance from family or Government
and now makes enough dough to pay for what he needs.
Government run health care? Not for me. I want the best!

Excellent news! May you have a complete and speedy recovery. I know you're glad to be rid of the Borg suit.

The Borg torso thing was a trip! Hap made me laugh when
he told me that the other day at Acme Speed Shop.
Laughing wasn't so funny then. I had to stifle myself
to keep the pain down. It was FUNNY as chit though.

I told Hap it was Brokeback Mountain without the gay sex.
He didn't stifle his laugh.

Ok counseler, now that your American named doctor has slit you open and shot the Permatex Ulitimate Black RTV in your spine, I fully expect you to be back to normal in two shakes of a bulldog's nub

I heard that those Brit socialist doctors use hylamor for this same procedure, and we all know that stuff won't stop a leak, leave it to good ole American technology to get you back up and going

Glad the procedure went well!!!

Heck I was back at work this morning. Kicking butts and taking names. Shoot, worked a normal "full" day. Home at lunch.
Trial tomorrow morning. Gotta make 'em bucks to support my lifestyle. No dole for me if I'm out of work.
I do expect it to take a few more days till I can get to work
on the BE.

From June to August: afternoon and evening scattered thunderstorms. Pumpkintown area average rain fall is
pretty high. I think it's about 79 inches or so.
South Escarpment of Blue Ridge. Veggie garden friendly.
Tomatoes climbing out of cages now.
Grow baby grow.
See you soon Russ.

Typical NC/SC summer forecast (every year forever)
"Hot, hazy, and humid with a chance of afternoon and evening thunder showers."

Same thing down here: "Must be 4 o'clock. It just started raining buckets."
It stops after about an hour or two, then we get a FREE sauna! :jester:

Milestone passed this weekend. I was able to walk down to the Buggy Barn and check on the LBC buggies. It wiped me out however.
Back at work today for a bit.
Upcoming: when my back is healed and I can get to the BE
look for an opus concerning "When the wheel comes off".

Big step today. Doc gave an all clear. No restrictions.
Look out....it's 'bout time to kick the tires and light some fires!
Picked up my new longer studs and lug nuts today as well.
All the parts are now in place. The mind has been willing and now the body can get on board.
