Don't try this at home!

Thank you, thank you

My insurance company has approved my surgery for
the 26th, next Wednesday. Saving me $32,000 +
and given me hope this nightmare of pain is coming to an end.
Just last night I once again awoke to a vomit fest ending
in dry heaving whilst my back was torturing me.
Thanks to all who have pulled for me. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
:grouphug:
I promise I'll never lift the rear of my BE again.
:square:
I'm truly blessed.

Re: Thank you, thank you

great news - you're in our prayers

Re: Thank you, thank you

Great news! We'll be thinking of you.

Get well! I know the pain (long story and almost 19 years ago). The good news is that you can come back to near normal (no more B/E lifting). At the time of my injury there was a strong posibility that I would not work again as a large animal vet. This month is twenty years since DVM School graduation and practice!

Dave,

How's the back doing?

Here I sit at 3:00a.m. having awaken for my second time tonight
in #$%&^# PAIN. Took a couple of hydrocodon (sic) horse pills
and some muscle relaxers. Readjusted my carbon fiber and alloy
torso cast and killing time waiting on the meds to kick in
so I can get a couple of more hours of sleep. Coffee and meds at 5:00 a.m. is getting too routine.
This chit SUCKS!
Good news is my pre-op is today and my surgery is Wednesday at
6:00 a.m. Should be pain free by Thursday.
Good thing since I have a trial Friday.
Doc is one of the nation's best and he's put a fellow sports car nut (me) on the pole position for his day.
God Bless him.

That being the case make sure he goes for polyurethane bushings - another "might as well" since he's doing the work anyway.

we're praying for you!

We're all pulling for ya!

Good luck, David. I'll be pullin' for ya.

Sigh...here it is midnight and I'm waiting on the meds to kick in ...again.
Pre-op went great. Going to try to get some sleep until the 4:00
a.m. alarm to get the show started. Under the knife at 8:00 a.m.
Poor wife is scared. You should have seen the look on her face
as they explained the risks, worse case scenarios etc.
I had to remind her of what I have to explain to clients vs
what I expect to be the outcomes.
I understand. That's the worst part of this whole sheebang.
I'm the guy people have to depend on, not the guy who burdens others and it's killing me to see the concern I've caused others.
Thanks to all and I'll do my best to whup this thing.
God Bless the Docs and all my friends.

David,

You're no burden! We're here because we care.
I could be in your shoes anytime.Isn't that what
life's supposed to be about.
Besides,Hap will kick your butt if you do
something stupid!

Howdy David,

You`ll probably be reading this after your "Minor" Outpatient Surgery today.

I was going to give you a call but I figured you`d probably be in there bright & early.

We`re all praying for you & can only anticipate you`ll be "Up & About" for the "Scottish Games" (Weather Permitting)?

Hey David, When you get back to the ranch; Don`t lift a darn thing!!

Thinking of You,

Danielle & Me

Yep, got a knock on the door yesterday and looked and for a minute I thought it was a Borg knocking on the door, nope, it's David in his turtle shell  David doc will have you patched up and rip, roaring, and ready to go in no time.

Surgery was an unqualified success! In at 8 and home by 11.
No more Borg outfit! No more pain!
Kyphoplasty is nothing short of a miracle.
Strange thing. Doc found out I have an extra vertebra.
So instead of it being the T12 it was a l1.
Seems a small portion of the population has this extra
vertebra. Add my chest plate of bone over my heart and
I'm just a freak of nature.
Doc is leaving today for Carolina Motor Sports racing.
I hope he kicks butt at the track!
Mucho thanks to all for their support!
:grouphug:
I'm headed to bed for some rest and should be back to fighting form by Friday!

That's good news,David.Rest & recovery is the way to go.

After all,you are supposed to be wearing the kilt at the games this weekend. :savewave:

Stuart.
