Diatribe Time.
I last drove the Wedge in the end of Sept. coming home from golf it was not acting correctly coming down my street.
It was mimicking earlier in the season when the control module went fubar on me.
2 weeks later ,nice day,could be the last of the season. Fire up the car and head down the street.I get about a mile away and it dies and won't fire up again.
I have it towed home,already complained about that in a prior post,and parked it. I replaced the module and got in to start it up. and watched as my gas gauge DIDN'T even move. Don't tell me I was out of gas all this time? Turn the key and still no start.
I bought a couple of gallons for it and it sat next to the car for 2 months.
Today after discussing things with Woody I check a couple of things out,add a little gas. Turn the key and after a couple of seconds it fires and runs!!
DOH!!!

Sometimes I wonder if I am even worthy of these things!

Don't feel to bad about that. One of my bosses years ago bought a new Chevy Vet. It quit on him and had it towed to the dealer. The looked at it for a couple a days before they notice it was out of gas. The boss came back and chewed out the linemen about not keep the car top off.

That's even worse than me leaving the ground off the engine and frying the throttle cable.

But at least we can look back on our less than stellar moments and laugh about it.
 
I ran out of gas in my company prius! talk about being hassled!
 
Now I can run it to get it hot to drain the oil for it's heart transplant
 
Don't forget the heart.

I was so excited on the very first start up of my TR I forgot the rotor cap.

Yes! And the older I get the more I seem to have, most of my friends are the same way. Maybe boomers are the cure to the energy problem.
 
After working for weeks to revive my dad's old tr3 and drive it the first time. I finally figured out that I had installed the new points incorrectly ( stupid nylon washer) I took her on the maiden voyage drove a few blocks with unbelievable enjoyment. She died when I drove out with my wife in it for the first time. I had afriend of mine help me push it back into the driveway. I was confounded as to what could possibly be wrong. My wife asks if it could be out of gas? "No there's no way I put 5 gallons in it a few days ago and only drove around the block a few times it's got GAS!"

I checked through every electrical possibility with to avail. Finally as a last ditch effort I looked in the tank to see if there was anything blocking the tank outlet.

There wasn't a drop of gas in her. I poured in a few gallons and she fired right up! Red faced bowed to the wife and her mechanical expertise, and likely will never live that down.
 
OK, OK, it happened to me TO. This summer I was on the way to an adult game.... got a few blocks from my house and sputter, sputter. Some nice guy came to my aid with enough gas to get me to a gas station and then my game.
Things like this happen to all of us at one time or another.

It happens to all of us!

I installed a new clutch in my GT6 once, buttoned everything up and went back to the bench to enjoy a cold beverage. Right next to the beer can was sitting the throwout bearing.

FORGOT TO INSTALL IT!

Jacked up the car, pulled it all apart and installed the bearing. Of course by then the beer was quite warm.

Live and learn . . . :cryin: :madder:
