TR2/3/3A Do Lucas distributor points still have the" Lucas logo" on them....

Got these from TRF a few months ago.

I received a set of points locally that were in a Lucas box but did not have the Lucas marking? Although they resemble the Lucas points I believe they are an aftermarket brand. I also received a bush terminal lead and condensor that was supposedly Lucas But when everything was assembled on the dizzy the lead and condensor "ring ends" would touch the plate hold down screw. Would that not ground out the points? See my previous post for pics of the different ends. I don't think it's just the ends of the wires that is the problem but the shape of the bottom points plate as well.

Watch what you buy as the aftermarket is full of correct looking boxes. If the box looks good but the points are not labeled be wary. The ends not being same shows you the difference and they may not last as long as the branded Lucas, Made in England.

For comparison, here is a set of NOS Lucas points from the 70s. "LUCAS" is in a unique font, with patent statement and "Made in England" stamped in the base. P1110672.jpg
