OK- as the title says- what is the difference between them or is there even an HIF6 or only an HIF44?
I have a couple of HIF singles (no provision for coupling shafts)that have a 1.75" throat, what are they?

The only difference between the 6 and 44 is that as Rick has said the 6 has a 1.75" throat and the 44 a 44mm throat. Most parts are interchangeable ( floats, jets etc ) although the throttle discs are slightly different.
