Well, I'd say a few will come out, but most are puckers that I'll just have to learn to like. Luckily, it'll be my wife's car, and she's not nearly as picky as I am. I really think a good upholsterer would have done a much better job...I'll be curious to hear what you get quoted. In hind sight, it would be worth waiting on an upholsterer if the price isn't too much more.
Oh, that reminds me, you asked about the tack strips. I tried the black plastic tack strips on the seat buckets, but it turned out they are too flexible. I used the 1/4" Luan ply under the passenger seat...just like the ply that was originally there. (it shows when you pull the seats out) For the strips that had to bend a lot inside the buckets, I used four 1/16" ply strips that I laminated to also be 1/4" total thickness. I used slow wood glue and bent the strips to shape as I riveted them in place. The end result works perfectly, although not exactly like the original. Those strips don't show at all once the covers are installed...
I assume you plan to take the pics to show what you want. I'll post a few of my original seats...and also some that came off the web to help guide me. I apologize if the red seats belong to one of you guys on the forum. But if they do...thanks...It's a beautiful car and helped me a lot as I go!
