Air Mobility Command (AMC), Nothin' to do with Ramblers (the car, not the people who wander).

Did I mention "Air Force"?? Them squid coats ain't what we wuz wearin'. This is a funny green color, REALLY orange when inside-out... tho th' Navy flyboyz had some leather ones to envy.

Yeah, Bryan... I was 'attached' to MAC, outfit was Aerospace Audio Visual Service... when we'd show up at someplace and explain we were th' "avis" guys some smeartbutt would invariably say: "We have enuff cars, we got a motor pool".

*sheesh* The more things change... :smirk:

They were called MA-1 Jackets Doc.. I got a couple of ole fray sleeved ones myself.
Old white hat LE troop here. I was assigned to MAC at good old "No Hope Pope" AFB in NC in the late 70's. I liked MAC and ATC the best of all the stateside commands I was assigned to. Of course, there's nothin like overseas to me.

Heat wave of -2 right now. Evening temps have been in the -27 to -35*F range for the last week. If this keeps up I may have to buy a winter coat.:D

I got one'of 'em frum a buddy. The 'lastic kinda stretched 'round the bottom. He was AF in the early 60's. I thought you said you had a pea coat that was issued to you, 36R, right? I fig'red you wasa Navy guy w/ that.

vintagetrends.com has some leather ones you was a'talkin' about. They gotta cool one w/ some patches....but one patch is a BUTTERFLY and it's on the FRONT !!! Sorry, kinda takes the buzz right out it.

No matter how I talked myself into wanting it...that freakin' butterfly kept killin' my buzz.

Warning of 4-degrees Saturday am...1-5 inches of snow projected! Not supposed to happen here....its only in 50's down on the coast.

I just heard in the radio this AM that parts of New MExico will be bracing for some record low temps later in the week.

Well, by the weekend there won't be any milk, breda or water on the grocery shelves around here....that's what the locals all stock up on when snow is forecast!
