Daylight Savings

Second clue: as the dawn breaks -

wonder if anyone remembers why the photo is connected to sunrise (and garlic) ...
Just a guess: Did it have anything to do with doctors?
"A garlic a day....."

doctors? well, in a *very* limited sense ... yep

Was the added hour of sunlight considered bad (unhealthy) for you?

It was very unhealthy for certain people ... and here's the doctor who discovered that:

oops - here's the right photo.

HAHAHAHA! I was sitting here for about 10 seconds going "What the heck does garlic have to do with sunrise?...." I'm a bit slow today.... Maybe an hour behind.

Surely Doc knows.

I can't believe nobody else knows who that is.

Scarey, isn't it! Ah, the great ol' black and white films, and legends from the past.

Garlic, crucifix, stakes, and of course:

They got in a copyright battle over using the name in that movie. That's why he was called Count Orlok. If you haven't seen it, I recommend "Shadow of the Vampire" with Willem Dafoe as Max Schreck.

I set my clock. I LOVE Daylight Savings Time!

And just to get us off to a rousing good start this morning -

Big daylight saving fan here -- I'm at work at 7 am so much of the year the morning drive is in the dark anyways. Working in a basement office means I really don't care if it's dark out when I get started.

I love the extra light at the end of the day though. I the summer it means I've got daylight until about 9:30 pm, so I can get a big hike/bike/drive in after work on a weekday. Big plus for me.

I like it too... mostly for the lazy summer evenings with light until 9 to 10.

Although I do like the light staying until later, mostly I am not a fan, I tend to stay up light and not get up too early, and I am just starting to wake up and feel like it is a the "right time" to get up and go to work when....daylight savings time hits, and I am back to crawling out of bed grumpy and wanting to sleep more. I don't think man was meant to wake up before it gets light out.
