Datsun 210 5 speed disassembly

Cool thanks bro. Gonna clean it out a bit and button it back up before i start loosing stuff. I'm not at a point where I can rebuild it yet. I've got mower deck bearings and parts everywhere right now and last thing I need is a five speed blade deck and a Midget that cuts grass.

I feel it is appropriate do do the dance of joy on my most recent aquisistion.

After you remove all 3 of the electrical switches from the side then remove the speedo pinion, remove the stopper pin bolt (holds the shifter slider in), remove return spring plug, spring and plunger (right side just forward of the stopper pin bolt). Remove reverse-check-sleeve assy. Remove front cover (SAVE ALL SHIMS). Remove front snap-ring.
NOW unbolt back housing and pull rear housing off (using a big-a$$ gear puller)
... and call me in the morning!
Bill
Hi Bill, do you know of a video on YouTube that might cover this procedure? I just got a Datsun 210 five speed manual to retrofit into my 1961 Austin Healey sprite, any ideas would be great, thank you,
